NOW on Demand

John Siceloff

In December 2001 John Siceloff left ABC to create NOW and has been at the helm since the series launched in January 2002. An award-winning broadcast news producer with more than twenty years of experience, Siceloff's career has included assignments at NBC, ABC, and CBS as well as extensive experience as a freelance journalist.

"NOW has carved out its niche in American broadcasting by giving our audience the long view of the issues that affect their lives," says Siceloff, who recently accepted the "Best Report in a News Magazine" Emmy for the series. "We are charged by our mission to encourage viewers to participate as citizens — that's not just delivering the news, but giving people the context to think about their relationship to the larger world."

Siceloff has served as senior broadcast producer for ABC News and producer for ABC's 20/20 and PRIMETIME LIVE, as well as senior producer of NBC's NOW, DATELINE, and PRIME STORY. He's also produced breaking news pieces for network television and radio from Central America and Africa. Siceloff's work with ABC News covering the aftermath of 9/11 received the Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia Award and the Peabody award. He has received National News Emmy Awards for ABC News' coverage of the Millennium celebrations and NBC's "The Terror Connection;" a Cine Eagle Award for ABC's "Guatemala;" and an Imagen Award for ABC's "Latin Beat." Prior to joining CBS News on staff in Central America in 1985, Siceloff worked as a freelance producer and journalist, reporting from locations around the world for BBC-TV, UPITN, MacNeil/Lehrer, Visnews, and CBS radio.

Born in South Carolina, he is a graduate of Swarthmore College and Stanford University, where he received an MA in Broadcast Journalism.
